Front Desk Associate – Part Time

We pride ourselves on providing our members and guests with first-class hospitality and customer service. As a Front Desk Associate, you are the first person members see when they walk in the door, and the last they see before leaving. Their whole experience at the club begins and ends with you!

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Inspect membership cards and sign in members on our computer system
  • Receive cash from customers or employees in payment of goods or services
  • Respond to inquiries from potential members and current members
  • Operate and balance cash register including making changes and issuing receipts as needed
  • Read and record totals shown on cash register tape and verify against cash on hand.
  • Prepare close-out reports per company policy
  • Assist in other departments as needed (Housekeeping/Membership)
  • Respond to telephone inquiries
  • Ability to greet members by name
  • Handle prospective members and walk-ins appropriately
  • Fill out company documentation per policy
  • Quote prices, compute bills or itemize lists and prepare handwritten and cash register receipts for sales transactions

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Minimum of three months working with the public
  • Must be able to build good rapport with members/guests, greet members when they enter the club, building strong relationships
  • Hiring is done for block schedules, so flexibility is key (weeknight and weekend shifts)
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to analyze, interpret company policies (written, oral, diagram and or schedule form), procedures and safety instructions
  • Fluent in English; Bilingual skills a plus but not required (Portuguese preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills, works well under pressure and time constraints and always display positive behaviors in all member contracts
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups and managers, co-workers, members and the general public
  • Basic math skills to include the ability to calculate figures, discounts and percentages
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Maintains a professional appearance with appropriate clothing and behavior (as described in the company’s guidelines)
