Marlborough, MA October 3, 2018: Wayside Athletic Club, a fixture in Metro West for nearly
forty years, announced today that Thrive’s 34th Annual Forrest Memorial Road Race, which
started and ended at Wayside Athletic Club, was deemed a great success by all parties involved.
The 5k road race, which once again included participation by Team Hoyt, was run in memory of
Marlborough community leader Jim Forrest who helped found the Marlborough Boys & Girls
Club and served on the Board of Directors of the Marlborough Recreation Department. Thrive
Support and Advocacy (formerly known as Greater Marlboro Programs), which empowers
individuals with developmental disabilities to focus on ability and discover opportunities to
shine, has taken a leadership role in the event.

“We were once again honored and delighted to host and sponsor such an inspirational event,”
commented Alycia Leduc, Director of Operations, Wayside Athletic Club. She added, “The
camaraderie among all who participated truly made this a special event and more importantly
raised money for an important cause.”

“Wayside is an outstanding community partner and we deeply appreciate their commitment in
anchoring this event,” commented Jim Karami, Director of Transportation, Social & Recreation,
Thrive Support and Advocacy. He added, “The turn-out was terrific and this event truly helps
build pride and meaningfulness for all of our participants.”

The event concluded with a barbeque and party at Wayside Athletic Club for all participants
and the entire Thrive community. All proceeds from the event benefit Thrive’s recreational
programs and sports teams.
