LIFEGUARD

Looking to put your lifeguard certification to use? We have several opportunities for lifeguards at Wayside Athletic Club. Wayside Athletic Club.

Flexible varied hours including opening shift (5:15am-9:00am) and day time shifts (9:00am-12:00pm and 12:00pm-3:00pm) and closing shifts (3:00pm-7:30 pm).

Competitive Pay: $15

Duties and Responsibilities:

– Understanding and application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques

– The ability to recognize and respond quickly and effectively in emergencies

– Must be able to work effectively with people of all ages – Able to make work assignments in a timely manner

– Knowledgeable of customer service standards and procedures – Must be available to work weekends/holidays

– Required to do cleaning during slow times – Must be able to communicate effectively with members Requirements and Qualifications

– Ability to work with all ages and swimming abilities

 

Current certification in the following:

American Red Cross Lifeguarding and First Aid, CPR/AED Professional Rescue (other Lifeguard Certification will be considered)

– Pre-employment testing of lifeguarding knowledge and skills

– Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups and managers, co-workers, members, and the general public

– Maintains a professional appearance with appropriate clothing and behavior (as described in the company’s guidelines)

FRONT DESK

Are you outgoing and love interacting with people? If so, read on! As a Front Desk Associate, you are the first person members see when they walk in the door, and the last they see before leaving. Their whole experience at the club begins and ends with you!

We are looking to fill shifts for: Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings (5 pm -9 pm) Saturday (1 pm – 6 pm) Sunday (1 pm – 6 pm)

Duties and Responsibilities

– Inspect membership cards and sign in members via our computer system

– Greet members by name, provide outstanding customer service and answer questions in a friendly manner, proactively offering assistance to members and prospects, provide accurate information, direct to appropriate department when appropriate

– Operate and balance cash register including making changes and issuing receipts as needed

– Read and record totals shown on cash register tape and verify against cash on hand.

– Prepare close-out reports per company policy – Assist in other departments as needed (Housekeeping/Membership)

– Respond to telephone inquiries – Handle prospective members and walk-ins appropriately

– Fill out company documentation per policy – Quote prices, compute bills, or itemize lists and prepare handwritten and cash register receipts for sales transactions

Requirements and Qualifications

– Prior customer service experience is a must

– Must be able to build a good rapport with members/guests, greet members when they enter the club, building strong relationships

– Hiring is done for block schedules, so flexibility is key

– Ability to multi-task

– Ability to analyze, interpret company policies (written, oral, diagram, and or schedule form), procedures, and safety instructions

– Fluent in English; Bilingual skills a plus (Portuguese preferred)

– Excellent communication skills, work well under pressure and time constraints and always display positive behaviors in all member contacts

– Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups and managers, co-workers, members, and the general public

– Basic math skills include the ability to calculate figures, discounts, and percentages

– Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

– Maintains a professional appearance with appropriate clothing and behavior (as described in the company’s guidelines)

PERSONAL TRAINER (PART TIME)

Wayside Athletic Club, a full-service club with fitness center, indoor and outdoor swimming, tennis, racquetball and more is seeking enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Personal Trainers to join our team!

If you are interested in training clients privately, semi-privately and leading small group training programs, love connecting with people, and want to motivate and inspire members to achieve their fitness goals, you’ll be a great fit for our team!

Qualifications:

  • ACE or NASM and CPR First Aid certification
  • Enthusiastic and have a passion for fitness
  • Have a natural ability to build strong relationships with clients and build your personal training network
  • Results driven
  • Sales experience preferred
