COVID 19 UPDATE

Covid 19 Update

Thursday, September 29, 2022

Wayside Athletic Club encourages all members to use masks if they so choose.  We do not require masks at this time or require proof of vaccination.  We will not start unless required by a local, state, or federal government ruling.

If you are exhibiting symptoms of Covid, please stay home.  If you have close contact with someone that has tested positive for Covid, please review current guidance as to whether you should test, isolate, or do nothing at all.

Dear members,

We wanted to let you know that the mask mandate imposed by the Marlborough Board of Health has been lifted and changed from a mandate to an advisory due to active COVID cases dropping.

What Does This Mean For Members & Guests

We will revert back to the club policy put in place in September of 2021. Please see below.

  • If you are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and we have your vaccination date on file then wearing a mask inside the club is optional
  • If you are ages 2-5, not vaccinated or your date of vaccination is not on file then a mask is required to be on at all times inside Wayside Athletic Club (in the pool excluded)
  • Please stop at the front desk to confirm the date that you became fully vaccinated against Covid-19 is on file

CHANGE IN MASK POLICY

Per the Marlborough Board of Health, effective Friday, January 21, 2022, we will require all members, staff, and guests to wear a mask when entering the club regardless of vaccination status. Your mask must be worn upon entering and exiting Wayside Athletic Club. This policy is for all individuals age 2 and older. If you have a medical exemption, we will require an updated physician’s note to be placed on file.

BOARD OF HEALTH MANDATE CAN BE FOUND HERE

ACCEPTABLE MASKS

  • The mask/face covering should fit snug fit around the nose and cheeks and avoid gaps
  • The fabric should be thick enough not to see the sun/light through
  • No neck gaiters, No bandanas, No exhalation valves or vents

SOCIAL DISTANCING

If you congregate with others please mask up and stay six feet apart from each other.

We do not anticipate any change in services, hours, or programs at this time. These are unique times and we put your safety and the safety of our staff above everything else during this time. Thank you for your continued support of the club and for abiding by our indoor mask policy.

December 29, 2021

We continue to monitor the evolving circumstances of COVID-19. The CDC has recently changed its recommendations on isolation should you test positive for COVID-19 or have close contact with someone who has tested positive for the virus. These changes are for both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals. In an effort to minimize the spread of colds, flu, or COVID, please do not come to the club if you feel ill. The safety of our members, staff, and guests continues to be our priority. We maintain to follow our cleaning and disinfecting protocols, contact tracing and ask that members social distance in the club when possible.

ISOLATE OR QUARANTINE

Isolate

If you are sick or test positive. You isolate when you are sick or when you have been infected with the virus, even if you don’t have symptoms.

Quarantine
If you were exposed you quarantine and stay away from others when you have been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19.

MASK POLICY

Our mask policy has not changed since the state loosened COVID restrictions on May 29, 2021:

  • Masks are optional if you are fully vaccinated and have received a booster shot.
  • We do require you to provide the date when you became fully vaccinated or had a booster shot on file if you want to be in the club without a mask.
  • Anyone age 5 or older that is not fully vaccinated will need to have a mask on at all times in the club except in the swimming pool.
  • Because children age 2 to 4 cannot receive a vaccination at this time for COVID-19 they will need to have a mask on at all times.

For the ongoing safety of others in keeping with regulations, we ask that nonvaccinated individuals continue to wear their mask/face covering.

  • The mask/face covering should fit snug fit around the nose and cheeks and avoid gaps
  • The fabric should be thick enough not to see the sun/light through
  • No neck gaiters, No bandanas, No exhalation valves or vents

We appreciate your cooperation in keeping members, staff, and guests as healthy as possible and adhering to Wayside Athletic Club policies when you visit the club. If there are any changes to our policy because of state or city guidelines we will notify you via email, website updates, or on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
