Wayside FitKids Cardio Boxing | Sunday | 12:45–1:45pm | Fitness Center | Ages 10-15
This high intensity class utilizes the traditional boxing format and will challenge even the best athletes. The class is run as a “circuit” with as many “stations” as there are members of the class. We will focus on boxing technique, including punch combinations, defensive drills, footwork and focus mitts. Each class concludes with conditioning and core-strength routines. You will have fun, get a great workout, plus develop some important self-defense skills.
Zumba ® Kids | Tuesday | 4:30–5:15pm | Main Studio | Ages 6+
® Kids classes feature kid-friendly routines based on original Zumba ® choreography. We break down the steps, add games, activities and cultural exploration elements into the class structure. Zumba ® Kids helps develop a healthy lifestyle and incorporate fitness as a natural part of children’s lives by making fitness fun. All junior members ages 10-12 are required to have parental supervision in the Fitness Center. Juniors ages 13-15, showing proper exercise technique and respect for safety, will be allowed to work out in the Fitness Center without parental supervision. Juniors who still need guidance will be restricted to parent and/or trainer supervision.
Personal & Small Group Training
Fitness training has been shown to be very beneficial for children as young as eight years of age. At Wayside Athletic Club, preventing injury is just one of the benefits of a regular exercise program. Help get your children moving and learning the foundations of exercise and sports.
Personal training provides instruction and a tailored fitness regimen specific to the individual’s needs. Small Group Training provides coached workouts in groups of no more than five participants.
Athletic Performance Academy with Paula (Ages 13-16)
This dynamic training program is designed for athletes of all skill or fitness level looking to increase their competitive edge, reach the next level and have their best season yet.
Whether the sport is football, soccer, baseball, tennis, lacrosse, field hockey, softball, basketball, track, volleyball, or any other sport that requires speed and agility, the Athletic Performance Academy will help an athlete run faster, get stronger, jump higher and be more explosive. This class runs in a circuit training format using a variety of strength exercises to help improve speed, power, coordination, agility, and assist with injury prevention.
All participants will undergo a functional movement screen (FMSTM) to determine any limitations to exercise. All exercises are modified according to ability with attention to proper technique.
